"The Korea Overseas Volunteers (KOVs) participate in such international efforts by toiling alongside the people of the developing countries, thus contributing to worldwide peace and development. Through the dispatch of KOVs and based on the spirit of mutual cooperation and volunteerism, KOICA aims to foster the economic and social growth of the host countries and also improve the people's standard of living. It can also be seen as the most concrete and practical manifestation of Korea's sphere of international cooperation and responsibility in the global community"

Working for two years as a consultant to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at a state university in the Philippines taught me to base my efforts not on unilateral, but upon mutual relationships, which considers the needs of the concerned over the benefactor¡¯s intentions. During my service, my duties were as follows;
1] Assistance to faculty to enhance the curriculum of the mechanical engineering department
2] Gave a lecture on C++ to the faculty
3] Development of a lab experimental tutorial on basic mechatronics.
4] Gave students a lecture on the basics of a computer
5] Development of a CNC simulation program
